Open the starting file “All About Me”…

Slide #1

On the first slide, click in the subtitle box and add your name.

Theme Color

Go to the Design tab…

Use the Colors drop-down menu and choose a different color…

SM: Master Layout

Go to View > Slide Master

Select the top/master layout.

Font Size

Go back to the Home tab…

Select the title text/box…

Pump up to the font size to 60

Font Type

Choose one of the following fun/thicker font types shown below:

Congenial
Jumble
Showcard Gothic
Snap ITC
Stencil

Change the font type

Don’t worry if the text is going outside the box.

  • Congenial
  • Jumble
  • Showcard Gothic
  • Snap ITC
  • Stencil

Quick Styles Intro

Fill
  • change the fill color to something that stands out against the background
  • change the fill from solid to gradient
  • set gradient direction to be darker at the bottom and lighter at the top
Outline
  • add an outline: black/white
Effects
  • add a bevel

Add Quick Style

Go to Shape Format and under Quick Styles choose one of the styles. Do not choose any of the styles crossed out as they are too hard to read.

Adjust Quick Style

Once you choose a style, you will need to change some options to make sure it stands out and is easy to read. Play with the fill/gradient, outline and shadow/bevel. Scroll down to find the style you are using amd see what changes you should make…

add color (that stands out against the background)…

… then add gradient (light / dark)

add bevel

add outline (dark/light) or bevel

SM: Title Layout

Go to the 2nd layout from the top…

Title Box

Click anywhere in the title box and pump up the font size to 96 and center it.

Subtitle Box

Then click in the subtitle box and pump up the font size to 36 and center it.

Keep your project open in Slide Master view and get your design checked off so far…

Titles & Layouts

Go back to Normal View

Your first and last slides should look something like this…

Slide # 2: Birthday

Type your birthday (month & day) in the title box.

Change the Layout to ‘Title Only’…

Slide #3 & #4

Choose any 2 of the topic choices below for these 2 slides…

Watch/Do:
  • Movies
  • TV Shows
  • Books
  • Video Games
Places:
  • Hobbies
  • Sports
  • Games
People:
  • Singers/Bands
  • Actors, Athletes, Authors
  • Characters (Disney, Anime, Pokemon)
  • Superheroes
Places:
  • countries, cities, theme parks
  • Places I Want To Go
  • Places I”ve Been To
  1. Type in a title for each.
  2. Change the Layout to ‘Title Only’

Slide #5: Animals

Type in the title and add 4 animals.
Choose any animals YOU like; the ones below are just an example.

Slide #6: Foods

Title: “Foods” or “Desserts” or “Drinks”. Type out 4 bullets, things you like to eat/drink.

Before continuing, get your design, titles and layouts checked so far…

Birthday Photo

Find a Photo

  1. Open another tab in Chrome.
  2. Search for “birthday” or “birthday cake” etc.
  3. Then go to Images
  1. Click on a wide type of picture, not a square/tall one…

Copy Full-Size Photo

  1. Click on the thumbnail
  2. Then right-click on the full-size preview, not the thumbnail!
  3. Copy Image

Paste Photo

Go to Slide #2. Paste the photo (CTRL+V) onto the slide. Resize it so it fits in the bottom area like this…

Picture Style

Add the flattened picture style and position it to fill the bottom area…
