Body

Insert a new layer; name it “body”.

Choose a color.

Select the Shapes tool.

Option #1: Shapes

Choose the Ellipse / Rounded Rectangle shape.

Set it to draw Filled.

Draw rectangles/circles as shown below.

If you want to draw only circles, use the Rectangle Select tool to select an area on the bottom and Delete.

Option #2: Line/Curve tool

You can also draw the car outline with the Line/Curve tool – set the thickness to 10. Make sure the lines are connecting smoothly. Then fill (2x) with the Paint Bucket.

Bulge

Go to Effects > Distort > Bulge

Make the car shape a bit more unique…

Lights

Insert a new layer; rename it “lights”.

Set the color to yellow. Select the Shape tool…

  1. Select the Ellipse shape tool and draw the front lights.
    Click off to set the shape.
  2. Select the Rounded Rectangle tool and draw the back lights .
    Click off to set the shape.

Delete outside Body

Click on the Magic Wand tool.

  1. Make the body layer active again.
  2. Click in an empty area outside the car/truck shape.
  1. Make the lights layer active again.
  2. Delete.

Wheels

Insert a new layer; rename it “wheel”.

Select the Ellipse shape tool.

Change the color to dark grey.

Hold SHIFT and draw a circle for the first wheel.
Make sure it’s not going off the edge of the canvas!

Click off to set the shape. Then change the color to the medium grey.

Draw an inner circle, holding SHIFT.

Click off to set the shape. Then duplicate the layer.

Use the Move tool to move it over.

[Enter] or CTRL+D to deselect.

Rims

Make the body layer active again.

Select the Color Picker tool. Click on the car/truck to get the same color.

Make the color a darker shade of that color by using the Hue/Saturation slider.

Insert a new layer just above the body layer; rename it “rims”.

Then draw a circle – hold SHIFT. Draw a circle behind the other wheel.

Delete Rim Outside Car

  1. Make the body layer active again.
  1. Select the Magic Wand tool.
  2. Click in an empty area around the car/truck.
  1. Make the rims layer active again.
  2. Delete.

Windows

Add a new layer at the top; rename it “windows”.

Switch the color so white is the primary color.

Select the Ellipse shape tool and draw a circle/oval like this…

Click on the Rectangle Select tool…

Draw an area down the middle… then Delete.

Draw an area along the bottom, then Delete.

Angled Fill

Set the colors back to the default.

Select the Paint Bucket tool. Change it to fill with angled lines

Click in the white areas of the windows.

Background Gradient

Make the Background layer active.

Set your colors to blue & green. Select the Gradient tool.

Drag down on the canvas.

[Enter] to set the gradient.
