Getting Started

Go to your folders…

Go to the COMP 6 shortcut on the left … go into the PPT folder…

Open the starting file “All About Me”…

Slide #1

On the first slide, click in the subtitle box and add your name.

Slide #2: Animals

Type in the title and add 4 animals.
Choose any animals YOU like; the ones below are just an example.

Getting Pictures from Google

  1. Open another tab in Chrome
  2. Type your first animal, and [Enter] to search
  3. Then look at Images.

Click on a picture you’d like to use. Check that the preview is clear (not blurry), and that the picture is a good size (>500 pixels wide). Search for photos, not clipart/memes/watermarks.

Copy Picture from Google

To copy the picture, right-click on the preview (not the thumbnail) and Copy Image.

Pasting & Resizing

On the slide, paste the picture on the slide (CTRL+V).

Click off the picture and get a photo for the next animal in your list.

Resize and position your photos so you’re filling up your slide as much as possible.

You can have them separate for now…

Later you will have to make the overlapping

Before continuing, get your pictures checked to ensure you are getting good quality pictures and resizing them properly…

Slide #3: Foods

Title: “Foods” or “Desserts” or “Snacks” or “Drinks”. Type out 4 bullets.
Choose any foods YOU like; this project is about you and what you like.

Find a good quality photo for each list item, making the photos as big as possible, but not stretching/squishing them.

Slide #4: Watch/Do

Choose one of the topic choices below…

  • Movies
  • TV Shows
  • Books
  • Video Games

Add the title to the slide.

Change the Layout to “Title Only”…

Do a Google search to find 3-5 good quality photos

Slide #5: People/Places/Things

Choose one of the topic choices below…

  • People: can be a mix of any of the following, or you can focus on one type:
    • Singers/Bands
    • Actors, Athletes, Authors
    • Characters (Disney, Anime, Pokemon)
    • Superheroes
  • Places: these can be places you’d like to go (countries, cities, theme parks)
  • Things: hobbies, sports, games

Type in the title…

Change the slide Layout to “Title Only”…

Do a Google search to find 3-5 good quality photos

Slide # 6: Birthday

Type your birthday month & day in the title box.

Change the Layout to “Title Only”.

Go to the Insert tab and click on Pictures

Choose Online Pictures. In the box that pops up…

  1. Type “birthday” or “birthday cake” or “present” or something related to birthdays that’s wide (not tall) and [Enter]
  2. Uncheck the box for Creative Commons only.
  3. Select a picture
  4. Insert.

Resize and position it something like this for now…

Slide #7: The End

Type in “The End” in the title box, and “Thanks for watching” in the subtitle box.

Change the Layout to Title Slide.

Get your photos checked off, that they’re good quality, before continuing.
