Create Graphic Symbols

Lock the ‘Head’ layer. Then select the ‘Trunk’ layer.

Go to Properties > Object tab … Convert to Symbol.

Name it ‘trunk’ and make sure it’s ‘Graphic’ type.

Now unlock the ‘Head’ layer, lock the ‘Trunk’ layer. Click on the ‘Head’ layer.

Go to Properties > Object tab … Convert to Symbol.

Name it ‘head’ and set type to ‘Graphic’.

Now unlock ‘Trunk’ layer.

Set the Transform Points

Select the ‘Free Transform’ tool and click on the ‘head’ symbol.

Then move the transform point to the bottom-middle as shown.

Repeat for the ‘trunk’ symbol.

Setup Layer Parenting

Click on the ‘Show Parenting View’ icon. This will expand the layers like this…

Now make the head connected to the trunk by drag-dropping the Head layer to the Trunk layer in the parenting section of the Timeline panel.

Modify Poses and Extend the Timeline

Open the ‘Transform’ panel. Use either the keyboard shortcut CTRL+T or go to Window > Transform.

Select the ‘head’ symbol/layer, and set Rotate to 15 degrees.

Select the ‘trunk’ symbol/layer, and set Rotate to -5 degrees.

Click on frame 50 of ‘Head’ layer and hold SHIFT, click on frame 50 of ‘Trunk’ layer, and Insert Auto keyframe.

Now select frame 25 on both layers, and Insert Auto keyframe.

On frame 25, select the ‘Head’ layer/symbol and set the Rotate to -15.

Select the ‘Trunk’ layer/symbol and set Rotate to 5.

Add Classic Tween

Click anywhere in the first span of the ‘Head’ layer and ‘Create classic tween’.

Do the same for each span on both layers.

Modify Easing

Click on any frame (1-25) of the tween span in the ‘Head’ layer.

Go to Properties > Frame tab … and the ‘Tweening’ section.

Click on the other tween spans on each layer and add the Ease In Out > Cubic.

Test the Movie to see how it looks.

Personalize Background Color

Go to Properties > Doc tab … Document Settings – set the Stage color.
