Introduction

See an example of what it will look like at the end.

Lock the SupportStructure layer.

First lock the layer we don’t want to change. Mouse hover the ‘SupportStructure’ layer and click the lock icon.

Create a graphic symbol

Select ‘Ship’ and ‘holding string’ objects – drag over everything on the stage.

Go to Properties panel > Objects tab. Click on Convert to Symbol.

Name it ‘ship’ and set as ‘Graphic’ type.

Set the Transform Point

Click the ‘Free Transform‘ tool.

Move the ‘Transform Point‘ under the flag where the holding strings meet.

Hover the mouse near the bottom corner until the cursor turns into the rotation cursor – then drag it to the left.

Extend the Timeline

Click on frame 100 of the structure layer and hold SHIFT, then click on frame 100 of the ship layer.

Then ‘Insert Auto keyframe‘ (or keyboard shortcut F6).

Click on frame 50 of the ‘Ship’ layer and rotate the ship to the right.

Once you’ve done that, you should see a keyframe/dot on frame 50.

Add Classic Tween

Now you have 2 frame spans on the ‘Ship’ layer.

Click on any frame in the first span (frame 1-49), and ‘Create classic tween’.

Then click on any frame in the 2nd span (frame 50-100) and ‘Create classic tween’.

Now click on ‘Test Movie’.

Modify Easing

  1. Click on any of the tween spans in ‘Ship’ layer (frame 1-50), then go to Properties > Frame tab … click on Effect and choose ‘Ease In Out‘ option. Then double-click on ‘Cubic‘.
  2. Then do the same for the 2nd span (frame 51-100).

Personalize the Background Color

Go to Properties panel > Doc tab …

Document settings – choose a color.
