Set Stage to Fit in Window
Go to the buttons just above the Stage…
Change the Stage size to ‘Fit in Window‘. It’ll end up being 103% if your window is full-size.
Add a character
Drag and drop the ‘Boy Trekker’ character from the Assets panel onto the Stage.
Test Animation
Rename your layer
Change the name of the layer to ‘Character’ by double-clicking on the name and then [Enter].
Add a new layer
Add a new layer by clicking on the’+’ button.
Don’t actually need to do this step as it creates a new layer when you drag an asset onto the Stage.
Rename the layer to ‘Background’.
Add a Background
Make sure the ‘Background’ layer is active. Go to the Assets panel, – drag the background image onto the Stage.
Move it to align the top-left corner to the top-left of the Stage.
Don’t worry if your character disappears.
Order your layers
Because the demo is different, delete the empty ‘Background’ layer, and rename ‘Night Mountain Trail’ layer to ‘Background.
Drag the ‘Character’ layer above the ‘Background’ layer and let go.
Test your animation
The man is walking now with the background.
Extend duration of your animation
You first get a window on “Information on Tweening. Click on the Open Help & Next button
This opens a new tab in Chrome with an overview of tweening.
Click on frame 150 for the ‘Character’ layer.
Long-press on ‘Insert keyframe‘ and choose ‘Frame‘ option (keyboard shortcut F5)
Then click on the ‘Background’ layer, on frame 150, and insert a ‘Frame‘ as well.
Add motion tween
Click on the last frame for the ‘Background’ layer. Then long press on the ‘Tween‘ button and choose ‘Motion Tween‘.
Move Background layer
Move the background layer on the Stage to the left, so the top-right corner of the image matches the top-right corner of the Stage.
Once you do that, it will have a keyframe (dot).
You will now see green/pink dots for the motion on the Stage.
Test your animation
You should see a man walking and moving.
