Introduction

See what you will be making.

Lock the Building Layer

All the assets that need to be animated should be placed on separate layers. In this case, we will be animating the propellers. Let’s lock the building layer so we don’t modify it accidentally.

Create a Graphic Symbol

Click & drag over the propellers on the Stage to select them all.

Go to Properties > Object tab … Convert to Symbol.

Name it ‘propeller’ and set to ‘Graphic’ type.

Extend the Timeline

Extend the timeline for both layers by clicking on frame 240 on the ‘Propeller’ layer, hold SHIFT and click on frame 240 for the ‘Building’ layer. Then click on the Insert keyframe button.

Rotate the propeller

Make sure you are on frame 240 and select the propeller on the Stage.

Open Transform panel (CTRL+T) and set the Rotate value to 360.

Create a classic tween

Click any frame in the ‘Propeller’ layer – except the last frame) and click ‘Create Classic Tween‘ in the Timeline panel.

Go to Properties > Frame tab … Tweening section – choose Rotate value as Clockwise.

Test your Animation

Click on ‘Test Movie’

Personalize your background color

Go to Properties > Doc tab …

under Document Settings, choose a color.
