Open the starting file “All About Me”…


Slide #1
On the first slide, click in the subtitle box and add your name.

Slide #2: Animals
Type in the title and add 4 animals.
Choose any animals YOU like; the ones below are just an example.

Getting Photos from Google
Google Image Search
- Open another tab in Chrome
- Type your first animal, and [Enter] to search
- Then look at Images.

Google Image Search
Click on a picture you’d like to use. Check that the preview is clear (not blurry), and that the picture is a good size (>500 pixels wide). Search for photos, not clipart/memes/watermarks.

Copy Picture from Google
To copy the picture, right-click on the preview (not the thumbnail) and Copy Image.

Pasting & Resizing
On the slide, paste the picture on the slide (CTRL+V).

Resize and position your photos so you’re filling up your slide as much as possible.

Picture Styles
Select all the pictures on your slide using SHIFT-click and add a picture style (any of the ovals or rounded corners)…


Resize & position your pictures so they fit nicely, on the slide.




Before continuing, get your pictures checked to ensure you are getting good quality pictures and resizing them properly…

Design
Theme Color
Go to the Design tab…

Use the Colors drop-down menu and choose a different color…

Slide Master Layout
Go to View > Slide Master

Select the top/master layout.

Font Size
Go back to the Home tab…

Select the title text/box…

Pump up to the font size to 60

Font Type
Choose one of the following fun/thicker font types shown below:





Change the font type…

Don’t worry if the text is going outside the box.
- Congenial
- Jumble
- Showcard Gothic
- Snap ITC
- Stencil

Quick Styles Intro
Fill
- change the fill color to something that stands out against the background
- change the fill from solid to gradient
- set gradient direction to be darker at the bottom and lighter at the top


Outline
- add an outline: black/white


Effects
- add a bevel…


Add Quick Style
Go to Shape Format and under Quick Styles choose one of the styles. Do not choose any of the styles crossed out as they are too hard to read.


Adjust Quick Style
Once you choose a style, you will need to change some options to make sure it stands out and is easy to read. Play with the fill/gradient, outline and shadow/bevel. Scroll down to find the style you are using amd see what changes you should make…

add color (that stands out against the background)…

… then add gradient (light / dark)

Go back to Normal View…

Your Animals slide should now have a nice big heading with a style like this. Adjust/move your pictures if any are too close to the title.

Get your work checked off so far before continuing…

Slide #3: Foods
Title: “Foods” or “Desserts” or “Snacks”. Type out 4 bullets, any foods you like to eat.


Find a good quality photo for each list item, making the photos as big as possible, but not stretching/squishing them.

Picture Styles
Select all the pictures on your list slides and add a picture style.


Arrange your pictures so they’reThey should be as big as possible, filling up the slide and overlapping.
