Getting Started
Open the Starting File
Go to your folders, go to your COMP 7 folder and then go into the PPT folder. Open the starting file “Year in Review”.


You should see slides like this when opened…

Turn off Designer Suggestions
Go to the File tab at the top-left. Then go to the bottom, to “Options”.


In the window that opens, uncheck the box for PowerPoint Designer; then click on OK to close the window.

Choose a Year
Click on the link below to open the year info page for the year you’d like to do…
Slide #1
On the first slide:
- Type the year you are focusing on in the title box.
- Add your name in the subtitle box.

Rename the File
Click on the file name “Year in Review” at the top and change the name to the year and your name after.

When you [Enter], the new name will show up at the top…

Slides #2-6: Songs
To listen to songs first to choose them, you will need to open the MUSIC folder…
- Go to your OneDrive folder.
- Go into the Teams sync drive “General – COMPUTERS 7”
- Go into the MUSIC folder.
- Go into the folder for your year.




Text
Go to your year info page, scroll down to the “Top Songs” list…

- Select the singer name and copy it (CTRL+C).
- Paste it into the title box on your first empty slide.
CTRL+V or use the Paste button.



- Select and copy the song including the quotation marks.
- Paste it in the subtitle box on the same slide.


- Reset the slide so the singer text is white, the song text is yellow.


Repeat for 4 more songs/slides:
- Copy and paste the singer text
- Copy and paste the song text
- Reset the slide


MP3s
Music Folder
- Go to your OneDrive folder.
- Go into the Teams sync drive “General – COMPUTERS 7”
- Go into the MUSIC folder.
- Go into the folder for your year.




Drag MP3 Files onto Song Slides
In your music folder, select the song file, then click and copy or drag it over to the top/right corner of the slide.


Repeat for the other 4 song slides: drag the MP3 over.

Slide #7: Top Movies
- Add the title “Top Movies”
- Copy the list of movies into the list box.
- Reset the slide.
- Delete movies until you have only 3 bullets.


Slide #8: TV Shows
- Copy the title “Top TV Shows” (or “TV Shows that Started”)
- Copy the list of TV shows.
- Reset the slide.
- Reduce the list to 3 bullets.




Slide #9
- Copy the topic in the title box.
- Copy the text into the list box.
- Reset the slide.


Slide #10: Births/Deaths
- Type the matching title for the section: “Births” or “Deaths”.


- Copy and paste text for 3 people and paste it in the list text box.
- Reset the slide.



Text Box Width
- Make the text box wider so each person fits on one line
- Hover over the right/middle circle and drag it out.
- Reduce the height so it’s the same height as the text.
This will give room for the pictures below.


Names Bold
Select the first name and make it bold by clicking on the “B” button in the pop up window or using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+B.

Repeat for the other names.

Slide #11
- Copy/type the topic in the title box.
- Copy the text into the list box.
- Reset the slide.


Text Box Width
- Make the box wider so it’s as wide as the slide, each bullet fits on one line.
- Also reduce the height of the box so there’s room for pictures below.

Make Words Bold
Make the same words bold as in the example slide…


Go to Slide Sorter View…

Zoom out to about 70-80% so you can see all the slide thumbnails…


Get your slides checked so far.
Keep the year info page open in Chrome.
