1980s: add slides

Extra Slides

In your folder, go to Student Share > Koppejan > COMP 7 and open the Extra Slides file.

Find your year and copy the extra slide(s) from your year.

Paste the extra slide(s) at the bottom of your project. Also add 5 new slides at the end.

Slide Layout

Change the Layout for the new slides to “Two Content”.

Those slides will look like this to start.

Text & Pictures

Each slide should have:

title
text in both boxes
2 pictures (one for each box)

Adjust the text boxes (size/position) so fitting text, room for pictures, and alternating top/bottom or sides.

Use Extra Slides

You can copy and paste text/photos from the extra slides onto the new slides.

Example 1:

You can split a list slide like this one into 3 different slides.

Copy the text and photo onto a new slide and do a little research to get more text and another photo. You can focus on one person/event on the new slide, or focus on 2 list items…

Example 2

You can take the info from a list slide like this and …

have 2 of the list items on one new slide like this, or
focus on one thing (adding some more info and another picture).

Own Research

If you want to do other things, you can do your own research or just go to the Year Page for your year and scroll to the bottom where there is “More”.

Here are some examples of new events that are not on the extra slides.

Delete extra slides

Delete the extra list slide(s) from the Extra Slides file. You should just have a total of 17 slides.

Animate Text in Slide Master

Go into Slide Master View, and select the “Two Content” layout.

Now go to the Animation tab and open the Animation Pane.

Click in the title box and add animation Fade – set to come in By Letter
Click in the top text box and add animation Fade – set to come in By Letter
Click in the bottom text box and add animation Fade – set to come in By Letter

Go back to Normal View.

If you look at the Animation Pane for Slide #13, it will look like this…

Animate Pictures

Animate the pictures on all the new slides, setting them to start With Previous so they both have “0”.

Picture Order

On each slide, right-click on any of the “Layout” animations and Copy Effects to Slide. You will then see the animations for the text.

Select the photo for the top/first text box on the slide, and drag the Picture animation up in the Animation Pane.

Repeat the same process on the other slides…

Transitions

With the bottom slide active/selected, hold SHIFT and select #13 to select all the new slides…

Go to the Transitions tab and add Random transitions to these slides.

Then on the far right, check the box to Advance After, and set the time to 10 sec.

Make sure to get your project checked so far before continuing!

Slide Order

Go to Slide Sorter View and zoom out so you can see all your slides.

Click and drag the new slides so they’re before/after your list slides.

Songs Playing

Slide #1

Double-click on the first slide to go back to Normal View. In the Animation Pane, double-click on the song animation and change it to stop playing from “3” to “4” slides.
